Welcome to our world...
...won't you come on
in!
Whoa!
If you are a horse and pony enthusiast with an interest in
all
things equine, you should visit this award winning attraction.
The
owner Tony Jenkins and his wife Ann, have lived at the farm
for over 30 years.
The
conception and development of this unique enterprise has created
so much interest, that Tony was persuaded to write about
it all.
It took the shape of four small books which are now out of
print.
By
popular demand, all four have been revised and are now condensed
into one intriguing volume. It is called 'Gold at Rainbow's
End'.
Such
is the remarkable history of Staintondale, which was once the
home of the Medieval Order of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem
(Richard 1 c.1195) that Tony decided to include some of it
in his books.
You
can read all about Tony's exploits from
his early childhood , when his only ambition seemed to be just
owning a horse. In the backyard environment of a pit village
in North Nottinghamshire, his chances at that time seemed hopelessly
remote.
Tony's
early dreams and ambitions were constantly about horses. They
were stimulated by stories about his adopted hero Roy Rogers
and his horse Trigger. Little did he realise just how many
of his dreams and aspirations would come true.
Achievements
are about determination and hard work, not to mention an element
of luck. Life is not an easy option but a journey with its
pitfalls, its trumphs and its challenges.
Shire
Horse Farm, once described as a concept and an ideal, has now
become reality. From Shire horses to Shetland ponies, from
a Western saddle to a Palomino, Tony did it his way.
With
a song in his heart - and in the book, a guitar in his hand,
he found 'Gold at Rainbow's End'.
